This painting depicts the irresistible, smiling face of an orangutan.

The word "orangutan" is derived from the Indonesian language: "orang" means "man" and "utan" is the translation of "jungle". Literally "man of the jungle".

This species of monkey is sadly on the brink of extinction on account of the massive destruction of the forests in Indonesia, which lands are used to plant palms that are used to product oil.
